A Christian's Prayer for Peace and Palestine

I am an American Christian. Pat Robertson, John Hagee, Tim LaHaye, and other "Christian Zionists" of their ilk do not speak for me. Their message does not honor Christ, it does not serve His Kingdom, and therefore their message is not Christian. The term "Christian Zionist" is in fact an oxymoron.

Zionism is racism. Zionism is at enmity with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Zionism is anti-Christ. The fact that it is propagated in the name of Christianity makes it an even graver evil, if that were possible.

I pray for the Palestinian people. I pray for an end to the occupation. And I pray that more Christians in this country will wake up to see the truth about the evils of Zionism, and will join the growing number of us who are saying, "not in our name."

I pray for all Christians, that through the knowledge of God's mercy and truth we will experience the everlasting peace which is already ours in the New Jerusalem. Only then will we be able to reflect the true character of Christ's kingdom to the world.
