The Heavens and the Earth

with Brian Maxwell

We discussed Brian's article, The Heavens and the Earth, which lays out a framework for understanding this metaphorical reference to God's people throughout Scripture. Some specific topics addressed include: the significance of the cosmological creation in Scripture; and the importance of viewing "the heavens and the earth" consistently throughout Scripture, with examples from Genesis, the Psalms, the prophets, New Testament epistles and Revelation. We also touched briefly on specific  metaphorical elements of the garden story.  We encourage feedback and participation in this on-going discussion.
