Ward, so many connections you have made here prove that this passage cannot be understood when viewed in isolation from the rest of Scripture. It is always amazing to me how clear things become when we look at the actual prophecies from which the apostles quote, in their context. Here is just one example you highlighted in your message which I found especially impactful:

1 Corinthians 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

When/Then: This is the saying that will be brought to pass when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption:

Isaiah 25:7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. 8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. 9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

*If* this corruptible has not yet put on incorruption, and this mortal has not yet put on immortality, then death has not been swallowed up in victory. Furthermore, the veil remains (which Paul says in 2 Corinthians 3 was being taken away in conjunction with the passing away of the Old Covenant); our tears have not been wiped away (which Revelation 21 equates with the New Jerusalem coming down from heaven); God’s people are still subject to rebuke (we are still under condemnation, which Paul in Romans 8 says is no more in Christ); and we are still waiting for Him to save us. We are not yet able to rejoice in His salvation.

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (I Corinthians 15:57)

Now, we (the heavens) declare the glory of God by proclaiming what He has done in giving us resurrection life:

Isaiah 44: 23 Sing, O ye heavens; for the LORD hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.
Isaiah 49:13 Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.
